Position Summary
Penn Foster High School is looking for a full-time Math Teacher who has a passion for teaching and helping students. Students are helped to achieve learning objectives as well as their own learning targets; the different types of support available to students:The variety of support provided to students:
This job will include communicating with students via phone, email, live chat and text. The teacher will also use other virtual tools for supporting student learning such as regular virtual office hours, virtual Q&A, webinars and student appointments. This role also collaborates closely with the other personnel on the high school team as well as those throughout the organization with projects and initiatives designed for enhancing learning outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
Offer students academic assistance by phone, email, live chat, text, office hours and appointments.
- Develop and deliver webinars.
- explanations to subjectively marked examinations
- Do administrative work as required, such as write letters and keep spreadsheets up to date, and distribute files to team members
- Analyse program/ course level data to inform outreach plans and activities considering student needs.
- Make, review and evaluate lessons, courses and programming for adherence to standards, guidelines and practices
- Do other work related to the job duties and level of work
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Bachelor or other higher level degree in Mathematics
- Completed high school student teaching certification from State of Iowa.Student teaching certificate from State of Iowa for 12 th grade Math.
- At least 2 years’ experience in teaching and/or tutoring.
- Having access to a reliable high speed internet connection.
- Effective computer skills and a positive learning attitude towards new systems.
- Very good time management skills
- Experience with online learning and instructional design
- Agriculture knowledge and understanding of business, good
- A solid grasp of the opportunities technology can afford to teaching and learning in fresh ways.
- Strong written, oral and attention-giving abilities and team working ability
- Pity for the e-student with all the things going on in his life!
- Disengagement to encourage students and employees to be successful academically
Strong work ethic Preferred
- Gain counterproductive work experience with at-risk students/young adults
- Quick thinking and body of words to say stuff effectively and efficiently.
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Previous working experience in a customer service or high pressure environment’s helpful.
- Work experience in a private, for-profit high school and/or postsecondary institution.
- Experience in online instruction, or, Education Services Managers experience is a plus.
Working Conditions & Hiring Process:
- U.S. Work Location Requirement: Employees must live in, and work in the United States. International remote job is not possible for this position.
- Travel Expectations: This is a remote position, but may require travel to team meetings, corporate events, conference, summits and other events as necessary.
- Requirements: Candidates must be willing and able to travel as required.
- On-Camera work environment – We work in a collaborative culture remotely using on-camera methods. Unless extenuating circumstances, employees will be on camera during a meeting.
- Recorded Video Interviews: Any Video Interviews that happen as part of the hiring process will be recorded to help maintain consistency and enhance purchasing process.
- Background Checks: The employment process requires the verification of a criminal background, where lawfully required, and/or employment, education and criminal history of an applicant, which will serve as a necessary condition to gaining employment with Penn Foster Group.
