Cybersecurity Analyst Intern

Looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern who is a strong individual with details and is motivated. This placements involves a hands-on experience working with the cybersecurity operations (cyber ops) team and assisting with the monitoring of systems, the identification of security threats, threat investigation and security process enhancements.

Collaborate with team members in engineering and operations to facilitate activities such as security monitoring, security vulnerability management, access review and incident response activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay on top of security alerts, system logs, and vulnerability reports to watch for threats.
  • Help in investigating any suspicious activities and documenting.
  • Assist in the identification, tracking and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Support checking access for and any security precautions to users, including procedures and possible risks.
  • Track and compile information about new cyber security threats.
  • Support the tasks of keeping security documentation, procedures and operational checklists.
  • Support the development of security processes and/or incident response playbooks.
  • Assist with measuring security operations and create accurate records of activities performed!

Requirements

  • Earning a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related area.
  • Fundamentals of networking, operating systems and cybersecurity.
  • Good documentation, problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Commitment to/awareness of good detail and confidentiality.
  • Independent and effective communication and work in remote location.
  • Being genuinely interested in cyber security and information security.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with any of the following experience will be a plus:

  • Knowledge of SIEM tools or security monitoring systems.
  • Exposure to vulnerability scanning or end-point security solution.
  • Understanding of basic security principles for clouds.
  • Some Python or Power Shell / shell scripting experience.
  • Cybersecurity labs, cyber security CTFs or personal involvement in cyber security project.
  • Relevant cybersecurity qualifications or study.
