Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is looking to hire a Government Operations Consultant II to join the FDLE Information Technology Services (ITS) team. The role is mainly relating to IT policy, planning and administrative co-ordination and procurement.
The successful candidate will assist in the review of the impact that new laws, regulations and policies can have on IT operations and will contribute to the purchasing, vendor coordination and renewals of technologies services as part of the management.

Key Responsibilities
As a role you might fill, you may be asked to:
- Scrutineering of bills, decisions and rules that might impact IT functions.
- Summarizing, making recommendations, and providing responses to new and revised regulations.
- Keeping abreast of policy and legislative changes, and reporting them to IT management.
- Helping to secure equipments and services.
- Familiarize with and keep up to date with IT Maintenance agreements and renewal.
- Discussing and negotiating new price and service quotation with vendors.
- The procurement of all goods through the state procurement system by ordering by purchase requisitions.
- Supporting the IT management for cross-functional and multi-departmental admin related tasks.
- Preparing reports and arranging information as specified by the agency.

Good organizational skills and communication skills are required, as are self-starters. There is a need to have a person who can decipher on the policies and procedures that will be required, understand the need, make analysis and coordinate with several assignments.
