Virtual General Education Teacher

This job is located remotely (100% online teaching). Eligible applicants will be those who reside in the State of Michigan, Ohio, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois or West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Your role as a Virtual Teacher will be the teacher of record and staple instructor for your subject area. You will provide live online lessons via Web conferencing, and utilize research-based teaching methods to address the needs and varied learning styles of students.
• Requires the setup and administration of courses within the learning management system; tracks student progress and assigns grades for assignments; offers frequent feedback to the students. Teachers will also provide feedback with students and be included in the student progress reports as part of the school leadership team.
• Student monitoring data will be reviewed and instruction will be modified as necessary on a regular basis. A primary area of responsibility will entail variation in teaching, assistance to students in online and blended learning, and the introduction of modern educational technology for student learning.
• The Virtual Teachers also will be expected to have positive communication with families and to provide a welcoming, supportive, and engaging communication setting online.

Qualifications

• This position requires a current state teaching license and knowledge of State and Common Core Standards in the content area.
• Seeking a minimum of 2 years experience as a teacher. Good written and verbal communication skills, and experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook, are desired.
• A successful person should have an interest in technology, a willingness to be coached and to give and receive feedback, be capable of managing confidential information appropriately, and be able to complete necessary federal and state background checks.
