Fortinet is seeking a highly skilled Front-End Software Engineer to support the development and maintenance of the web-based GUI interfaces that are compatible with FortiSwitch networking switches. This position is suited for someone who works with high attention to detail, likes to resolve complex UI problems, enhance current systems, and ensure that systems are reliable and produce successful user experiences.
The role will focus on the function, performance and maintainability of the FortiSwitchOS web interface and involve participating in all aspects of the project process, including collaborating with other engineers, the QA team, product teams and management.

- Diploma: English Language Arts diploma required, but will be considered as equivalent if a high school diploma is obtained or already held.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and analyze problems, and troubleshoot them in the FortiSwitchOS web GUI.
- Comprehensively and comprehensively test fixes.
- Develop and execute enhancements or new features that are required due to product requirements and/or needs.
- Learn common front end problem; which can be from other parts of system.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical staffs to solve intricate issues.
- Produce accessible and internationalization friendly HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
- Apply standards to TypeScript, SCSS and frontend development.
- Develop functional specifications for new features to a user interface.
- Work with QA, Product, Management and Engineering teams on development.
- Make frontend codebase organization and maintainability better.
- Understand the performance of the front- and back-end and take necessary action.
- Contribute to more efficient and streamlined application creation processes.
Requirements
Applicants who are successful should be able to:
- Fitness for a minimum of 5 years of professional Front-End Software Building knowledge.
- Fluency with HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ES6).
- Experience with TypeScript and SCSS.
- Knowledge of AJAX, Promises and the modern approach to asynchronous development.
- Knowledge of experience in component-based frameworks (React, Vue).
- Ability to quickly learn new programming languages and technologies.
- Understanding of algorithms and computational complexity.
- Structured approach to debugging; problem solving and documentation skills.
- Good technical diligence and initiative on problem solving.
- Capacity to work well with decentralised and virtual team(s).
Experience with Python, C, or Cython is a plus, but candidates willing to learn the above languages are also welcome to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary for this full-time role is estimated to be $148,000 – $180,000 in the U.S. Actual remuneration will depend on experience, skills, qualifications, location and other factors.
