We are seeking a talented Financial and Budget Analyst to join a team in GovCIO focused on financial management, budget planning, data analysis and reporting for a mission-driven government team that supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
This is a remote-based role for an experienced financial professional with analytical, budgeting, planning and reporting abilities. Successful candidate will assist with fiscal management, such as budget development, budget execution, financial analysis, data calls, dashboard preparation and other needs of the program.
Key Responsibilities
- You will have multiple opportunities to get involved in the budget formulation and budget execution processes as a Financial and Budget Analyst and will support the multi-year financial planning activities. You will study financial needs, track finance numbers, and assist in making sure that finances are allocated and committed within time frames.
- The position entails close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders to coordinate budget exercises, to analyse evolving program needs and to recommend practical solutions. Projects can also be assessed for appropriate justification, prioritization and planning to achieve the business value they seek to provide.
- Other duties involve developing financial management strategies and preparing other professional reports including issue papers, risk assessments, leadership briefings and other financial paperwork.
- Data analysis and costing will also be employed to assist you with finding possible savings and the support of strategic planning. A good sense of presentation is required, being able to present complex financial information clearly in a visual way through presentation tools like PowerPoint is part of the role.
Qualifications
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- They should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a dynamic CUSTOMER DELIVERY environment, and preferably, the candidate would have a minimum of 2 years of direct experience with financial analysis and budgetary needs. Might reduce experience requirements with a Master’s Degree.
- Experience supporting DHS or other U.S. government agencies preferred. Individuals that possess the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply for this opportunity: Federal financial and budget analysis, program planning, program scheduling, cost analysis, project management and data analysis.
- Analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication abilities are desired. To be able to work independently within a fast-paced environment and effectively work with internal/external stakeholders is also key.
Salary and Requirements
- Position salary is posted as $80,000-$90,000 Annually.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS security clearance and must be a U.S. Citizen for this job.
