Key Responsibilities
Your role as a Data Entry Specialist will be to:
- Access and input patient information efficiently without error to internal and client systems.
- Collaborate across various EMR systems to find, check and use patient health records.
- Review carefully records for missing, inconsistent or incorrect information.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy while achieving productivity and quality goals.
- Trusted with sensitive health (PHI) data and keep it confidentially.
- Obey company policies and HIPAA privacy and security guidelines.
- Maintain good communications with other members of the team, other departments and external parties as necessary.
- Collaborate with other staff in order to determine areas for improvement of service delivery and service processes.
- Keep up recording consistent records at every step of an assigned process.
- Work within time limits, meeting required quality standards.
Requirements & Skills
Candidates should have:
- Knowledge of common computer applications and technology and capability to perform them using Microsoft Office.

Experience with health records, a clinic EMR system or data entry (DE) processes will be useful.
Compliance & Patient Privacy
- Sensitive health data applies to this position, requiring adherence to relevant privacy and security needs. Duties involve patient/client confidentiality, completing compliance training as outlined and maintaining HIPAA certification as necessary.
- Employees should also report suspected unethical, fraudulent or illegal activities via proper lines of the company.
Physical Requirements
May be in extended computer and document user role. Should be able to:
- Spend long periods of time sitting or standing.
- Work on documents at length, typing and handling.
- Read information displayed on computer monitors and documents.
- Communicate clearly through speaking and hearing.
- Lift/carry items up to about 25 lb. as needed.
