Edmentum is looking for a professional to teach social studies to the middle and high school students with engaging, real-time instruction in a virtual setting. The role is a remote position and best suited for an educator who has experience in this field and is interested in working in educational technology and developing a positive teaching space via a computer.
The teacher will provide real-time, on-camera instruction, individualize instruction to meet students ‘ needs, and support students in maintaining their motivation and academic achievement. Consistency of live teaching leaves little room for variability in candidates; therefore candidates must be at ease with teaching for 5+ hours per day on the days the teacher is scheduled to teach.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach Social Sciences live/synchronously using a digital learning platform.
- Maintain pupil engagement with structured, interactive and well planned lessons.
- Analyze student assessment data for gaps in learning to make instructional adjustments.
- Give clear and prompt feedback on assignments, keep accurate student records.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, families and school partners.
- Regularly meet with Edmentum colleagues to deliver consistent academic support.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, and establish an inclusive virtual classroom.
- Modify instruction to accommodate the needs of individual student(s).
Qualifications
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related disciplines, current teaching license and hold social science endorsement for 6-12 elementary grade. Experience in E-Learning and/or conventional classes is preferred.
- Successful candidates will be confident teaching for long duration on camera and be familiar with virtual classroom platforms, online learning systems and standard productivity software. Writing and verbal communication skills are a must, as are self-starter qualities and the ability to oversee a group of students working independently in a remote learning environment.
- Previous experience with Advanced Placement courses is preferred. The candidate should also have an awareness of the importance of utilizing student information for enhanced instructional decisions and possess good organization, time management, flexibility and a willingness to attend to ways to improve through continuing education.
Salary & Benefits
- Edmentum provides an annual salary between $45,000 and $50,000 per annum, subject to skill, experience and qualifications.
