Position of Shopify Senior Software Engineer (work from home)

Looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Shopify to become a part of the remote team working towards developing scalable and efficient e-commerce systems. This is a perfect job for individuals who love dealing with emerging web technologies, customization of storefronts, app development, and digital commerce platforms and have worked on Shopify before.

Role Overview

It will be a Senior Software Engineer position, where you will be building Shopify projects for startup, rapidly developing brands, agencies, and renowned businesses. Specialize in either frontend or backend, system, or full stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop customized Shopify websites, themes, apps, and headless commerce systems.
• Build cutting-edge “web experiences” using React, Next.js, Remix, TypeScript, and Liquid.
• Develop Apps, APIs, Extensions, Web Hooks and custom Backend services for Shopify.
• Integrate with other systems like ERP, OMS, CMS, and other business systems.
• Utilize tech such as node, postgres, mongdb, supabase and prisma.
• Properly manage API integrations, authentication mechanisms, data migration and ETL, and scalable architectures.
• Fine tune web pages and programs for speed, access, security and reliability.
• To work alongside designers, engineers and product teams, and clients to gauge and provide their technical solutions well.
• Engage in code review, tech planning, deployments and product improvement analysis and contribution.
• Offer technical support and coaching to other team members.

Requirements

It is desirable to have experience with Shopify and web development in the real world. The Shopify Admin API, Shopify Storefront API, Shopify Theme App Extensions, Shopify Functions, Liquid, React, Next.js, Remix, TypeScript, and Node.js are all fantastic.
Some knowledge of databases, APIs, authentication, Git based workflow, cloud deployment and third party integration would be nice as well. Problem solving, communication, team working and client working skills are good.
