Video Editor – Remote

Summary of the Position

We are looking to hire a creative and experienced Video Editor that is thoroughly adept at video editing to join our remote video team at More Perfect Union. The Video Editor will be responsible for creating interesting video content by collaborating with producers, reporters, and others from the video team.

Among the main duties of the position will be editing different types of videos such as breaking news, interviews, explainers, opinion pieces, and other short documentaries. Candidates only must have outstanding video editing and storytelling abilities, be detail oriented, and do multiple editing projects simultaneously.

Key Duties

• Edit quality video for digital and social media platforms.
• Discuss video story ideas and development with the producer/reporter.
• Read scripts and advising on the use of appropriate videos, images, photographs and visuals.
• Demonstrate the procedure for accessing, editing, and manipulating video and media files.
• Create video motion graphics, and various visual products, using relevant video editing software.
• Select the right music and sound effects to go along with videos.
• Adhere to the latest standards of video editing and social media management.
• Compile and store finished video projects in easily accessible ways.
• Manage several video projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines and other requirements.
• Work as a team and provide creative contributions as needed.
• Maintain a high level of quality for all videos created.
• Stay updated on all new technologies related to video editing.

Requirements

• High-level skills in using Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Skills in using Adobe After Effects.
• Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator skills will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with video editing, voice over narrative and visual communication.
• Experience preferred with documentary, journalism or digital video production.
• Great communication, organizational and collaboration skills.Must be able to work independently.
• Good capacity for multi-tasking.
• Ability to work under time constraints and being perfectionist.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.Having experience in video development, or making videos will be an added advantage.

This position is considered to be on the Internet in the United States and provides an annual income of $90,000.
