Rescale is looking to join the Software Engineering team as a Software Engineer, Backend to help develop and enhance the company’s digital engineering platform. The company plans and creates cloud-based solutions integrating engineering application, automation, AI and data management to assist organizations in the acceleration of their product development and scientific research.
The position will require involving with backend systems that power product sales from fields ranging from aerospace to life sciences, energy to manufacturing. You will be able to participate in both new product suggestions and relevant production systems of the customers.

What You’ll Do
Your duties could include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement dependable backend capabilities from sparkling ideas to production.
- Collaborate with other engineering colleagues to build and keep up to date with automated testing and deployment infrastructure.
- Enhance Rescale’s customer facing platform in key areas.
- Participate in systems development within the themes of identity and access management, cloud-based workstations and workflow automation.
- Formulate solutions to support early-stage prototypes to production critical applications.
- Defect hunting and performance optimization for faster application, faster database access, and better system performance.
- Participate in the design and development of scalable Web applications using contemporary cloud infrastructure.
- Make technical decisions keeping in mind security, reliability, maintenance.
Requirements
- Rescale is seeking a developer with a keen interest in complex technical solutions in a team-oriented workflow. Qualified candidates should have:
- C+IT+2 years of experience developing and operating backend systems in production.
- Thorough knowledge or expertise in backend performance improvement, such as ORM and DB Profiling.
- Experience or interest in deployment and scaling of solutions via cloud services.
- Understanding of basic application security and secure software creation techniques.
- Quickly jump back and forth between quick prototypes and reliable long production solutions.
- User centered-software development.
- Practical decision making abilities and great problem solving.
- Excellent teamworking, communication and ownership.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or similar industry experience is preferred.
