Blacksmith Agency is seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Senior WordPress Developer to join their team and oversee custom WordPress website developments, from build to launch. It is a senior-level, client-facing position for someone who possesses strong technical abilities, communication and business skills.
You’ll be in charge of the client, identifying their needs and creating a development plan, then building websites quickly, efficiently, and with very high degrees of personalization. The position is also designed to promote the adoption of AI tools for improving the efficiency of the development process and workflow.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Manage WordPress projects from beginning to end.
- Convert customer needs to usable technical solutions.
- Create customized WordPress themes, templates, plugins and Gutenberg blocks.
- Update and/or test good, scalable code.
- Salvage time and resources with AI development tools.
- Discuss necessary technical needs and project development directly with clients.
- Support clients’ websites to ensure they are secure, faster and perform well.
- Look for ways to enhance development process and project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
The qualified person should have extensive practical experience in the following areas:
- Custom WordPress development
- PHP programming
- Modern HTML and CSS
JavaScript
- A site built using WordPress themes, plugins, and custom functionality.
- A WordPress site that uses a WordPress theme, plugins and custom functionality.
- Client-facing technical communication
- This encompasses ownership of the project, planning and development.
- List of AI tools and processes used in software development.
Excellent communication skills in the English language are required as involved with the client.
